Historic Midtown

This is one of the many renovated homes in historic midtown. Most of this area is run down and long since forgotten. In this area only a little over half of the historic homes have been renovated. This section of town is near Drury University and Cox South, a local hospital.

One Way

There are a few one way streets in Springfield. Most of the time they are in inconvenient areas. About 3 months ago they seriously discussed changing two of the major one-way streets into two lanes each way. It never happened because of the cost associated with changing it over, and the fact that the city council thought that some people may be confused and use it as a one-way anyway. In case you are wondering people in this area can be that dumb.

Mini Van

This is one of the ways that Missouri State University is being eco-friendly. I love that they are trying, even a little bit helps. They have a couple of these and some similar trucks with flat beds.

The rain in this area has been a frequent picture post and I am sorry if you are tired of seeing this type of picture. I enjoy the rain and inclement weather so I love to see this coming in to town.

Press to Order

I have been sick lately so I would like to apologize for not posting for a couple of days. I have been holed up in my apartment. This is from a fast food restaurant that I ate at on my way to work. They usually have amazing BLT's.

Men at Work

In and around Springfield it feels as is there is construction tie-ups. This is in front of one of the 5 buildings that are undergoing structural remodeling. The roads are also being smoothed out before the fall semester beings, around campus anyway. If you are headed to or through Springfield beware of the construction.

Siceluff Hall

This is Siceluff Hall on the Missouri State University campus. The history of this building according to the university's web page stated that "Siceluff Hall was built in 1927 and served as the University's first science building. In 1972, Siceluff Hall was extensively remodeled following the move of the sciences to Temple Hall. Named in honor of Dr. Harry Siceluff, longtime professor of English and Education." Currently most of the classes held in this building are general education courses.

Brangus Bull

Springfield may be a city of over a quarter million people, but the outskirts still have a very rural feel to them. This is one of the many bulls that has passed through the Springfield Sale Barn. If you were to see him in person he would be a small Angus, must be the Brahma in him.

Transit

During the school year this area is usually bustling with students and faculty trying to get to class on time. The transit system goes all over campus and to downtown on the weekends. I think the school does this so the students won't drink and drive after a little fun downtown.

Bluff

This is a common sight on Missouri waterways. This was taken out at Springfield Lake after it had rained for several days. I always go here to get a little relaxation when I can't get out of town.

Welcome to Springfield Daily Photo. Everyday I will post a new photo of Springfield, MO. I am a beginner so please be kind in your criticisms. I am trying to improve and hopefully will be able to do so as time goes by.
